We love shopping in Seoul! | Seoul Feb’13

First stop, Gangnam!

Gangnam-gu is located at the South of Han River. Cheongdam-dong and Apgujeong are located in this district! (where you can find most of the luxury brands) If you’re looking for high-end fashion street, this will be the place that you’re looking for! Many of the Kpop headquarters and broadcast stations are around here too, so keep your eyes WIDE open! 0.0

Directions:

Gangnam Station (Seoul Subway Line 2), Exit 10 or 11.
Apgujeong Station (Seoul Subway Line 3), Exit 2.

I’ve promised to bring them to the Jjimjilbang (Korean Sauna / Korean Public Bath House) and so here we are~!! The temperature that day was at -17°C (the lowest during our trip) so it was the best time to visit the Jjimjilbang!! It was too cold outside to travel further to the bigger Jjimjilbang, so I brought them to the nearby smaller ones. This place is located near Hongik University and it’s in between Hongik Univ Station and Hapjeong Station. It cost us only 7000 – 8000 won and we can slack all we want for the whole day/night!

We can’t bring our camera in to the sauna and bath area, so we uses our phone to take pictures (so pardon the lousy quality)!

IMG_4082

Enjoying our dinner the typical Korean way! Korean cup noodles + Tea/rice wine + Korea Drama = Happiness!! This was my 2nd time and I totally love it!! Been missing it for 2 long years and finally I get to enjoy my time here again! How I wish I can bring Jjimjilbang back home with me!

Very nice Soondubu and Beef Jjigae for breakfast, yes, a bit too heavy! Getting ready to ‘chiong’ our last day of shopping cause the next few days they’ll be celebrating the Lunar New year too and so most of the shops will be closed!

IMG_4489

IMG_4492It was -11°C that morning and look at the icy pathway….. -___-” this is no fun at all, it’s super slippery and you know that if you fall, it’s gonna hurt like mad!

What I love to do the most while traveling…. Find a good side-walk cafe with a good view of the street, order my cuppa coffee and watches the world go by. During traveling, sometimes it can be stressful, rush and even get paranoid easily. Sometimes, you’ll just need to slow down your foot steps and take a deep breath, isn’t it?  Set aside a couple of hours to sit in a cafe and watch the world go by will make your trip more memorable. It clears my mind from the daily stress, while at the same time feeling grateful and how blessed that I am able to be here.

My favourite Korean Supper! AWESOME~!!!! Been missing this for 2 long years!! The feeling of sitting/standing along the street, enjoy biting off chunks and chunks of the delicious fish cakes, the big portion of Ddukbokki and sipping away on the hot soup…… just too blissful! ♥♥

What a wonderful day spent at Myeongdong! Lovely night~

Back to Seoul during last Winter! | Feburary’13

You just won’t get tired of traveling to the places that you love. Seoul is at the top of my list. I can go back again and again and still never get tired of this place.
Last winter I happened to find cheap tickets to Seoul, at first I thought of flying there alone for a winter break but end up Kelvin and 2 of my friends came along. So off we go 2 months after we booked the tickets! Still felt as excited as the first time I went to Seoul. I never felt that excited even when I  fly to Japan, Hokkaido and Taiwan. This is how much I love Korea~♥
On the first night when we touched down in Seoul, it started snowing!! We were welcomed by the beautiful snow flakes and slowly it turned into a white winterland! Although this not my first time seeing snow but I donno why I felt overwhelmed to see my favorite city covered with beautiful white snow! Seoul just couldn’t stop giving me beautiful memories and it makes me miss this place more and more!

Our room at JGuesthouse. Small but with good location, clean and cheap! (the bed is too hard for me though) It’s located in Shinchon, next to Hyundai Dept Store and just a 5mins walk to Shinchon Subway Station.
.
We’ve got a washing machine, electrical induction stove, basin, a big fridge and a password door locking system! Oh and the floor heating system, love this!

What makes me the happiest girl is when I wake up, checking out the view from our room’s window and see exactly what I have expected or dreamt of. This made my heart freeze for a moment. Maybe it’s beautiful only in my eyes but I don’t care! I miss peeping out of the windows regularly to check out all the frozen rooftops! Wan jeong ye-peu da~ ♥♥
